OUR SERVICES - Childcare

High quality early childhood care and education is imperative, and the benefits cannot be overestimated. Positive experiences in the early years build a solid foundation for later life.

We believe each child is a unique individual with unique needs, interests and strengths. All children go through the accepted stages of development, however, not every child will reach each stage at the same age, and therefore we feel that it is important to cater for each child as an individual.

We believe young children learn through hands-on experiences and play is a vital part of this learning process.

We support children with additional needs to ensure inclusivity.

Each child comes to the centre with a different set of experiences. We acknowledge and respect the many differing social and cultural backgrounds and believe it is vital to maintain continuity between the home and the centre.

Our program provides a variety and balance of experiences to cater for all the developmental stages of the children in our care.

Educators with input from parents and using the Early Years Learning Framework based on the five principles are used to create a considered program for the children in our care:

  • Secure, respectful and reciprocal relationships
  • Partnerships
  • High expectations and equity
  • Respect for diversity, and
  • Ongoing learning and reflective practice.

For more information read our 'Statement of principles' document here which guides the work we do and the care and education we provide.

Families who are eligible for the Childcare Benefit through Centrelink can claim the payment in one of two ways, either as an up-front fee reduction, or as a once a year tax deduction.

Our fee schedule is reviewed every year prior to the new financial year and any changes are tabled at a Special Parent's Meeting.

All permanent bookings must be paid for regardless of whether your child attends. Two weeks’ notice must be given to change a permanent booking.

When completing your child’s enrolment form you need to provide us with yours and your child's Customer Reference Number, correct date of birth and correct full name to receive the payment.

FAMILY AND GAURDIAN INVOLVEMENT

Creating a community feel within our centre is very important to us at Parkside Community Childcare. To achieve this we encourage families and gaurdians to donate some of your time or resources to support the centre.

There are many ways you can get involved, here are some examples of activities and ways families and gaurdians have been involved with our centre in the past:

  • Assisting the Educators in your child’s room with activities, excursions or sharing your special skills with the children
  • Working bees 2 per year (yard cleaning and maintenance)
  • Fundraising events
  • Children’s room events
  • Family/guardian events at the centre
  • Becoming part of the management committee that supports the centre directors
  • Donations of equipment, books and craft materials are always appreciated

We have always received generous support from our community, and being able to provide a friendly, supportive community for our families to be a part of is something that we strive always maintain.

Your involvement in any capacity is a wonderful benefit to our centre and the community.
