Old Macdonald's Farm Visit

On Thursday the 28th of November, Old Macdonald's Farm visited our Centre. They brought with them: five ducks, three rabbits, two lambs, two chickens, one silkie bantam hen, and one cheeky goat. The children enjoyed visiting in small groups and enjoyed having the opportunities to brush and gently touch the friendly animals!

In the lead up to the animal’s visit, the Toddler and Kindy children spent the week learning about different animals and all the things that make them special and unique. They played games such as "Guess That Noise" where they heard an animal noise and enthusiastically guessed and discussed which animal it came from. They also learnt about different animal habitats and climates and painted a range of unique animal footprints.

During the visit, the farmers taught the children about what the animals eat and how to care for them. The children were given the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the lives of these lovely new fur friends.
